In February of 1982, Ross and his brother went to a house in the El Dorado with the intention of collecting some money. They drove separately, when they arrived Ross told his brother to leave and he would meet up with him later, but they never did. Ross's car was found parked at Lincoln and Govenour in Wichita, at what used to be a nightclub. Ross's family went to his apartment but there was nother out of the ordinary. The KBI and Butler County Sheriff's Department investigated but there was not enough evidence for an arrest. Ross has been described as a good man who got mixed up with dangerous people.
