Stefanie Welch
	Stefanie was last seen when she dropped her youngest son off at his babysitter's home in Lakin, Kansas around 9:15 AM on February 28, 2001.  Police believe she drove back to her mobile home she was getting ready to move out of, and may have returned to remove some of her personal belongings.  She hasn't been seen or heard from since.  She was engaged to Roy Moore in early 2001, and she was driving her silver 1990 Mazda 626 at the time of her disappearance.  Stefanie's car was discovered abandoned in the driveway of a mobile home park in southeast Lakin around 11:00 AM.  Witnesses said an unidentified man dressed in black walked away from the car shortly afterwards.  Police do not believe Stefanie knew anyone in this mobile home park, and believe someone else drove her car there.  Her jacket and wallet containing $500.00 was discovered on the front seat of the car.  The wheel wells were covered with snow and mud and someone drove the car an unspecified  distance before parking it at the mobile home park.  Roy Moore picked up Stefanie's son from the babysitter's home after she failed to return by 6:00 PM.  He learned that his vehicle had been abandoned earlier in the dary after reporting Stefanie's disappearance later during the evening.  At the time of her disappearance, Stefanie was in the process of divorcing her husband, Brian Welch, who has since been awarded custody of their two sons.  He said Stefanie and him were trying to reconcile, and she had no intention of marrying Moore, although there were claims she was planning a July 2001 wedding.  An extensive search of the area produced no clues to her disappearance.  Her case was reclassified as a probable homicide in February of 2002, and there have not been any arrests in connection with her disappearance.  Important Information: Date Missing: February 28, 2001 Place Missing: Lakin, Kansas Date of Birth: July 1977 Age at Time of Disappearance: 23 Hair Color: Brown Investigating Agency: Kearny County Sheriff's Office 620-355-6211 Kansas Bureau of Investigation 800-KS-CRIME If you have any information regarding Stefanie's disappearance, please contact the above agencies.
