| Tawnya was reported missing on December 8, 1996. She was last seen by an acquaintance during the evening hours in Spring Hill, Kansas on December 7, 1996. Tawnya was missing for six months, when her skeletal remains were discovered in a farmers field on June 6, 1997. The field was located in the 21000 block of U.S. 169 Highway, and the Johnson County Coroner ruled her case a homicide following an autopsy.
