Known Clothing: A three-quarter length blue knit sweater with a maroon turtle neck and maroon slacks, she was carrying a leather shoulder bag and a black and white pocket book.

Loy vanished during her lunch hour on February 28, 1977.  She went to have a watch adjusted, then drove to a drugstore where she had coffee and bought an umbrella.  Her car was back in its usual spot in the garage later that afternoon, but Loy was never seen again.  She was a legal secretary at a lawfirm, and her purse was found 10 days later under a bridge in southeast Kansas City, near Unity Village.  Loy was a former Kansas State University queen nominne, and was happily married and living in Overland Park with no romantic or financial entanglements.  The couple had no children, and Loy's husband moved to have her declared legally dead seven years later.
